Position Summary:

At Your Marketing Co, we believe social media isn’t just about likes and shares—it’s about connecting credit unions with real people in meaningful, measurable ways.

We’re looking for a Social Media Strategist who’s equal parts creator and strategist, someone who knows how to turn insights into impact. If you’re the type who scrolls for inspiration, follows trends before they trend, and knows the difference between engagement and real brand-building—this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Social Strategy & Execution:
    Build and execute social media strategies that elevate brand awareness, engagement, and credibility across platforms (think Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging channels).

  • Content Planning & Creation:
    Plan, write, and schedule content that informs, entertains, and converts—backed by performance data and aligned with each credit union’s brand.

  • Brand Consistency:
    Manage brand guidelines and maintain up-to-date brand bibles to ensure consistency across every post, reply, and campaign.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    Track key performance indicators such as engagement rate, reach, impressions, web traffic, sentiment, and conversions. Provide insights and recommendations monthly.

  • Client Communication & Community Engagement:
    Collaborate with credit union clients to respond to comments, messages, and reviews with timeliness, empathy, and accuracy—ensuring their brand voice shows up consistently online.

  • Trend Spotting & Innovation:
    Stay on top of algorithm changes, platform updates, and emerging trends to proactively adjust strategies and inspire innovation.

  • Collaboration & Ideation:
    Work closely with designers, copywriters, and strategists to bring creative campaigns to life across channels.

  • Proofing & Quality Control:
    Ensure every post is proofed, polished, and meets our quality standards. No typos. No pixelated graphics. Just clean, compelling content.

  • Social Listening:
    Use tools and insights to monitor brand mentions, audience sentiment, and industry conversations—then use those learnings to guide content and engagement strategies.

  • Living the YMC Values:
    Be a steward of our mission and values, using your creativity and expertise to help credit unions thrive by 2030.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience managing social media accounts for brands or agencies

  • Proficient with scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Loomly, Later, Meta Business Suite)

  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills

  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and turn data into strategy

  • Comfortable presenting ideas and results to clients

  • Graphic design experience in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

  • Familiarity with financial services or credit unions is a bonus

Does YMC work with clients that aren’t credit unions?

Currently, no. We are a boutique marketing firm with a niche in mission-focused credit unions seeking to improve their communities. While there are plenty of community banks and institutions doing great work, our focus is on the over 4,500 credit unions that exist.

What’s the key to succeeding at YMC?

Keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to ask a question! It’s easy to make a mistake in any position, but those mistakes can be avoided when you take the time to ask the necessary questions. And when a mistake is made at YMC, we welcome the chance to learn from it.

Are there any YMC traditions?

As a team, we like to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and promotions. We also celebrate holidays and annual events like Mardi Gras, National Wine Day, Christmas, etc. And of course, our weekly “Think and Drink” meetings where the whole team comes together to apply our creativity towards solving a client problem! All of them! While headquartered in Greenville, SC, we have team members all over the world and have been completely virtual since 2021.
